“Honestly, I had never heard of Mitchell Defense before I reached out to them to inquire about reviewing one of their rifles. After an initial email exchange with Nathan Mitchell, the owner, we scheduled a phone call. Shortly into that phone call, it was very obvious to me that Nathan cares about building a quality rifle for his customers and that he goes above and beyond to deliver an accurate & well-built rifle. Mitchell Defense thermal fits the barrel to the upper, precision grinds the BCG, and guarantees a 1/2 MOA on most variations of their rifles. Before I had even handled the rifle I was already impressed with the ethos and mission of Mitchell Defense and I could not wait to start shooting the rifle.
Once the GWOT DOC arrived I unboxed it and was pleasantly surprised to see that it ships with a nice Bulldog soft case. After removing it from the case the first thing I noticed was the “feel” of the rifle. In other words, it does not feel cheap and if you have ever handled a nice rifle then you know what I am talking about. The rifle just felt good in my hands. There was good lockup between the receivers, the rail felt great, and the B5 Systems furniture is one of my favorites. The GWOT DOC also comes with a crisp Geissele SSA trigger, a Radian Raptor charging handle, and a Radian Talon ambi safety. There is nothing to change or add except for an optic. So that is exactly what I did and headed out to the backyard range.”
